An Honest Diary Entry From Student’s Perspective

Written by Emilia Padilla
This cool, June morning, we made our departure from Pittsburg, PA and began our journey to Hagerstown, MD. It was one of many days filled with excitement. While charging the batteries, we made presentations, visited, and enjoyed every stop. One visit we made was in Somerset, PA. We visited the Somerset County Technology Center for a presentation. We also made a presentation at the Bedford County Technology Center. Lastly, we were given a tour of Hagerstown Community College. I enjoy stops like these because not only are we showing people our car and talking to them but we are connecting with them and learning from them as they probably have learned a few things from us. With all the presenting, connecting, and learning, we find the time to do other things, as well.
We found enough time to go to the site where one of the hijacked plans of September 11, 2001 crashed. The Flight 93 Memorial. I will not deny, when I first found out that we were going to this memorial site, I was not entirely interested. But when we got there, my mind flipped. These people lost their lives and were not the only ones. There were three other planes where this happened. They had about the same amount of passengers, and attackers. About two-thousand, nine hundred, and ninty six people were lost that day. Mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, loved ones disappeared before the world’s very eyes. There I was, where these lives were lost.
It was very interesting and showed me a new perspective. We closed this day in Hagerstown, MD. After getting a bite to eat from Sonic and watching the sun go down, we made our way to the hotel where we rested and prepared for tomorrow’s adventures.
